Surrounded by 25 acres of woods Avalon Legacy Ranch Wedding venue is located 5 minutes from downtown McKinney. This place has a cozy feel to it, with several indoor spaces for your guests to gather, plus a covered back porch area for dinner and your reception. For a venue that is so close to the city, it provides a very remote feel, immersing you in nature.
There are loads of great spots for photography at this location. Besides the great outdoor ceremony space there is a pond and bridge area that looks great in the afternoon and at golden hour. The venue provides a golf cart for shuttling the bride and groom to these locations since the property is so large.
The bridal suite in this location is large and bright. The main house boasts lots of windows that allow for bright indoor photos of the bridal party getting ready. This place has an upscale rustic feel to it that is very Texas without committing to a barn venue.
There is a small library located at the front of the venue, which is a great spot for some flash portraits of you and your special someone. It is very cozy and colorful! I have a few examples close to the end of the post.
Samantha + Huy Avalon Legacy Ranch Wedding
This lovely November day was full of lovely fall hues and great weather for an outdoor reception. This couple held their ceremony at a local church but gathered their guests back at Avalon Legacy Ranch Weddings for cocktails and dancing. Their dog Chico was the star of the show. He had his own little tuxedo and was the most friendly guy ever! He was charming everyone all night.
One of the most noteworthy moments for me was the lovely live music provided during cocktail hour by Edward of Desabelle Band. I first heard the music inside while photographing guests and did not realize it was not pre-recorded because it sounded so good! The brisk fall weather combined with the romantic music and ambience of the reception space was something special.
