This Mandalay Canal Wedding Portrait session was a chilly and fabulous way to start my morning. The Mandalay Canals in Las Colinas Texas is one of two locations I am aware of in the Dallas Fort Worth area that boasts a European aesthetic. Cobblestone, unique windows/doors, and a lot of great landscaping make it a unique location for anyone wanting their session to stand out from the standard Texas look. I have linked a session at the other location with similar vibes located in McKinney at the bottom of this post so you can compare for yourself. The one good thing about the weather is we had the space to ourselves, where usually there is a variety of sessions throughout the canals.
These two reached out to me last minute regarding their courthouse wedding, and while I was already booked for another wedding during their scheduled ceremony time, I was able to meet them early for some portraits beforehand. This session was in February and was frigid compared to most outdoor sessions I have photographed. It was in the thirties and these two were troopers (especially Parul). I kept telling her the photos won’t look as cold as it felt. After a while she said it wasn’t so bad because she felt numb.
Despite the weather Parul looked amazing in her unique tea length dress and statement heels. The lace details with the nude colored lining was such a classy look! They drove from Louisiana to Dallas for their nuptials. Definitely a memorable Mandalay Canal Wedding Portrait session with these two newlyweds.
