Best Spots for Dallas Engagement Photos

Congrats on your engagement! You have some sparkly new bling, and a lot of wedding planning to tackle. One of the important things on that list is your engagement photos. Your engagement photos can be used on your save the dates, invitations, and will be displayed at your wedding. Need some help deciding where to have your session? While there are tons of options, here is a list of some of my favorite Dallas engagement photo locations.

These DFW area gems are locations I frequent with clients and always impress. Most of these locations are nature centric with gorgeous greenery and flowers at the right time of year.

Adriatica Village

This hidden gem in McKinney will make people wonder if you traveled to Europe for your engagement session. Cobblestone walkways and architecture that lends itself to classy and upscale vibes. It is definitely a stand out if you are looking for a location only locals tend to take advantage of. Use this location in the spring if you want to capture the dogwood tree’s blooms featured in the images below.

Erwin Park

This hidden gem is about 35 minutes North of Dallas. It boasts open grassy fields, great tree lines for filtered golden hour light, along with lots of pretty flowers in the Spring. It is a great location where you feel like you have nothing but endless sky as a backdrop. What is more Texas than that?

Arbor Hills Nature Preserve

This central Plano nature center is a hot spot for Dallas Engagement Photos. Only a 10 minute drive from Northern Dallas, you will find couples and photographers just about every day of the week. It’s not hard to see why. With 3 square miles of locations to explore with both paved and dirt paths to travel. The hill at the front of this park is premium for sun sets and there is a hidden pond if you don’t mind a bit of a walk.

Oak Point Nature Preserve

In Northern Plano, this nature spot has manicured paths on one side of the park, and open water on the other side. Just 15 minutes up Interstate 75 from the heart of Dallas, the mature trees at this location definitely immerse you in a ‘forest’ vibe and the grassy field at the front of the preserve boasts great placement for summer and fall sunsets. On the opposite end of the park you will find a gorgeous pond with a full walking path for cute cuddles by the water front.

Historic Downtown McKinney

Downtown McKinney will always be a favorite of mine. You will find charming and photogenic store fronts and a handful of murals. A bonus feature of this location is a park on one end for those wanting both urban and nature filled images in their session. Plus there are lots of cute places to grab dinner within walking distance after your session. You are already dressed up for your Dallas engagement session, so why not make it a date night?

White Rock Lake

This Dallas staple is a classic location for sessions of all kinds. It’s centralized DFW location makes it popular and accessible. There are gorgeous locations for both morning and evening light. Options for shooting locations surround the entirety of the lake, so there are plenty of locations to choose from! The foliage and backdrop colors definitely shift throughout the seasons here. Plus, you are right by the Dallas Arboretum for a post session date night if you want.

Hope you found a great option for your Dallas Engagement Session from this list! Now put on your best outfit and let’s make some magic! Contact me about booking your session here.
