A Trinity River Audubon Center Wedding is perfect if you are looking modern venue enveloped in nature in the Dallas/Forth Worth area. This hidden gem is fabulous year round, but really shines between the end of March, and the middle of November, to best highlight all the natural elements. A bonus is this venue is non-profit, which is a great way to give back while hosting your special day. A little about the center below:
Trinity River Audubon Center is located just ten miles south of downtown Dallas, but you’ll feel a world away. Our center is your gateway to explore the amazing resources of the 6,000-acre Great Trinity Forest, the largest urban hardwood forest in the United States.
A part of the City of Dallas-Trinity River Corridor Project, the center’s 120 acres sit on a former illegal dump site, now a reclaimed haven for a vast array of birds and other wildlife in an increasingly urbanized metropolitan area.

The windows at this place are the star of the show, immersing your guests in nature no matter the weather. This is great for indoor portraits. If you have fabulous weather like we did at this event, the porch area at the entrance is a great location for cocktail hour. I have also seen guests set up table top games on the back porch of the reception space to have as an option for guests to enjoy during open dancing. Not the best fit for a large wedding if you are planning to have your ceremony on the scissor tail deck (my favorite spot). Seating in the reception can accommodate up to 150, but if you want space for a dance floor I would keep your guest count closer to the 100 mark.
Vanessa was one of the most charismatic and bubbly brides I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. She was kind, organized, and not to mention, gorgeous! Xavier was the ying to her yang with a calm demeanor and positive attitude from start to finish.
Their November sunset ceremony had gorgeous glowy light and perfect weather for an outdoor ceremony. The ceremony was held at sunset and we had just enough time to run to the back of the venue for sunset portraits right after their “I do’s”. The light was perfect and a huge shout out to my second shooter Whitney for being an awesome veil tosser and all around amazing second shooter. The guests enjoyed a local mariachi band during dinner service, then tore up the dance floor all night. I really liked how their exit photos turned out. Instead of using sparklers for light, they plugged in string lights for their guests to hold. It looked great in the tunnel setting.
Huge congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Montemayor! Thanks for letting me part of your Trinity River Audubon Center Wedding.
