The Dallas Arboretum is a classic Dallas wedding venue. Couple’s have been tying the knot at the arboretum for decades. No matter when you visit, you will almost always see some sort of photo session going on. It’s a hot spot for professionals and amateur photographers alike. While the arboretum is known for lavish garden style weddings, they offer micro wedding packages during the week and on non peak dates/times.
Regardless when you hold your Dallas Arboretum wedding, there will be seasonal foliage and florals for stunning photography backdrops. There are numerous locations you can choose to hold your ceremony and reception. Based on season, number of guests, and weather, the event team can help you find the best fit for your dream day. There are 18 wedding ceremony locations and 4 reception locations to choose from. The ceremony locations hold 10-125 guests.
This is a hidden gem of the arboretum. Tucked in the back corner of the sprawling property, it is one of the most private locations for a Dallas Arboretum Wedding. Covered from the sun during midday hours and space for up to 25 of your closest family and friends, Karen’s Gazebo is a solid choice for low key micro weddings in a gorgeous setting. This location is for daytime and weekday weddings (which is when the majority of elopements and micro weddings take place). Below you will find two weddings I have photographed at the gazebo. One is your standard sunny Texas day and the second is overcast. I include both so couple’s can compare the potential lighting situations.
This summery Dallas Arboretum Wedding was so sweet and intimate. Bingbing & James met while in college. They traveled from Pennsylvania back to James hometown of Dallas for their nuptials. Their initial wedding date had to be changed due to the pandemic. They held their micro wedding with less than 20 total guests in attendance. Their ceremony was held at Karen’s Gazebo. They set up a live stream so Bingbing’s family could enjoy the ceremony from outside the country. Their ceremony took place around midday with lots of Texas sunshine to go with it.
The lunch reception was held at III Forks Restaurant in Dallas. There were heartfelt speeches and lots of delicious food for everyone to enjoy. James & Bingbing’s special day was proof you don’t need a lavish wedding or extensive guest list to have a perfect day.
Congrats again to Mr. & Mrs. Greenhaw!

While Bingbing and James midday Dallas Arboretum Wedding was sunny and bright, Lindsay and Josh got overcast and drizzly weather. The rain held off for the entirety of the two hours we were photographing, and it was a lovely 68 degrees outside (which is rare for Texas). They had about 25 guests total, including their bridal party who donned shades of blue. Lindsay rented silk flowers for her and her bridemaid’s bouquet, which was a first for me. I have a handful of brides choose faux flowers each year, but it is great to know that you can rent pre-made bouquets and decor if you don’t want to worry about making your own combinations or what you will do with your forever flowers when you are done.
Lindsay’s favorite flowers are daffodils and I was so glad their date matched up with the spring blooms on full display in many locations around Karen’s Gazebo. Josh’s reaction to seeing his bride during their first look is one of my favorite reactions from a groom. He couldn’t stop complimenting her all day and it was adorable.
